To foster the establishment of African media that will give an authentic, African-based depiction of cultural arts and general culture by working with other community-based African media outlets to raise funds that will support and enable the above.
To bring an African perspective to what is known or being learned about Africa by way of assisting educational, community and related institutions or organizations in developing programs or activities that relate to African culture, thereby fostering the documentation of important African events, interviews, educational materials and other items that might be represented through media sources.
To counter miss-information that is being forwarded or presented by other sources non-African and African alike, by presenting or representing African cultures in ways that make it relevant to other cultures, including the exploration of cross-cultural initiatives with cultures of the Caribbean, Asia, South and Central America, Europe and Oceania.
To expose people to many varieties and categories of African music that have not been adequately exposed to general audiences, by working with community groups to establish programs or media spaces where the youth can get the authentic African stories through music and culture.

To create entertainment, news, sports, youth and other public affairs programming that could be used by African-oriented and the general media.
To act as liaison between large media-related organizations-governmental, non-governmental and corporate and smaller African-oriented media organizations.
Afrikan Media Development Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the African community. We work with media, enlighten the youth, tell African stories, and showcase musical and cultural events.
We are an intellectually diverse group of expert African media and cultural advocates who combine their intellectual resources to develop or assist in the development of, projects that promote or highlight Africa with a truly African perspective. Many claims have been made as to what is African. But is it truly African? Can and should a true, better-informed perspective of African culture be disseminated in your community?
The African Media Developmental Project seeks to resolve these and related issues (music, education, mass communication, etc.) by presenting truly African projects or by providing assistance where needed. We can assist in many areas by:
